Join us to strengthen our role in advocating for a regulatory environment in which labour migration policies support business and development to create jobs and economic growth.

What is the role of the private sector?

  1. Advise Governments how to Decrease the Difficulty and Cost of Recruitment: The meeting will help shape policy that would ease recruitment efforts, decrease costs, and help scale your business. Improvement in migration policies and frameworks will allow your company to attract and retain top talent. The dissemination of evidence-based regional and global data indicating benefits from talent flow is necessary. Your expertise and experience are invaluable as we refine migration policy recommendation
  2. Share Strategies for Integrating Immigrants into Your Workforce: The demographic challenges will make it harder to fill positions in your company. The economic case for migration is well proven. The private sector is a key actor in integrating immigrants into the workforce and thereby contributing to closing the skills gap
  3. Private sector input to the Global Compact on Migration (GCM). The 164 United Nations member states adopted the GCM in Marrakesh in 2018. For the first time, the voice of the private sector was well articulated in the Agreement. The Business Advisory Group on Migration provides the platform in which the private sector to channel its concerns.
  4. Network with Peers and Engage Policymakers: We bring together business representatives from around the world and from a variety of industries. At our events, we invite government and multi stakeholders nationally and from the region in a concerted effort to discuss strategic issues relating to skills mobility, to share best practices and develop recommendations to table at international forums on migration policies.
  5. Acquire Tools to Navigate the Complex World of Migration Policy and Regulation: The Business Advisory Group on Migration stand ready to assist you in navigation your way through the maze that make up the migration landscape.
